One event, one shelf
Give every task, project or deadline its own Shelf, and gather the files scattered across your Desktop, Downloads, iCloud Drive and project folders.
Event-centric file and project management, designed for the age of AI agents.
WhereIs is an event-centric file and project management app for macOS, iOS and iPadOS, built for the age of AI agents. Instead of organizing by folders, it makes each Event the core of your work and each Shelf its workspace, bringing files, tasks and project context together. Deeply integrated with the Apple ecosystem and with AI agents, it makes running a project from start to finish, and working alongside agents, simpler and more natural.

Software, built block by block.
Give every task, project or deadline its own Shelf, and gather the files scattered across your Desktop, Downloads, iCloud Drive and project folders.
A shelf keeps references, so originals stay where they are. Move or rename a file in Finder and its shelves follow.
Give a shelf a deadline, reminders and to-dos. The countdown changes colour as the date nears, and finished to-dos move to the Logbook.
Drag a shelf onto Claude Code or Codex. The agent works inside the shelf’s own workspace, and what it makes comes back to the shelf.
Built-in MCP lets agents search, organize and plan. Anything that touches files on disk waits for your approval and can be undone.
No account and no WhereIs server. Shelves sync through your own private iCloud, and the files themselves are never uploaded.
WhereIs is the newest product from the Juicycode team: a tool deeply integrated with the Apple ecosystem that rethinks how files are organized and projects are managed.
Traditional file systems organize files by folders and hierarchy, but where a file is stored says little about what it means in your work. One project can span several folders, many kinds of files and a constantly changing set of tasks, and folders rarely show how all of it fits together.
WhereIs breaks with that long-standing logic and rebuilds how files and projects are organized for the age of agents: Event-Centric, with the event at the core.
In WhereIs, an Event is the central object of file and project management: a piece of work with a clear goal, an ongoing process and a lifecycle. A Shelf is the visual workspace that holds an Event, bringing its files, tasks and context together in one place.
By referencing and tracking file paths, and combining them with to-dos, deadlines, descriptions and tags, WhereIs gathers work that lives in many places onto a single Shelf, so a project stays clear, orderly and easy to manage from start to finish.
An Event defines the work; a Shelf holds everything it needs. Above are the four core ideas of WhereIs, below how it works with agents and iCloud. Pick any module to learn more.
01Core ideas
WhereIs changes how people work with their files, and it also helps AI agents fit naturally into real work.
Hand a Shelf to Claude Code, Codex and other leading agents in one step. With dozens of MCP tools and Markdown context files carefully designed by the WhereIs team, an agent quickly understands the project’s structure, progress and background, so you spend less time re-explaining and rebuilding context, and work picks up where it left off.
We want people and agents to stop explaining over and over what happened and where things stand, and instead pick up naturally from each other around the same Event.
We believe WhereIs will become a capable companion for getting more done, organizing your digital assets and managing every project’s lifecycle.
From creating the event to results landing back on the shelf, the context travels with the work.
WhereIs is free on the Mac App Store and needs macOS 26 or later on a Mac with Apple silicon. iPhone and iPad apps are coming soon.
Download WhereIs on the Mac App Store
We also run an invitation-only beta through TestFlight. Visit whereis.work and email the WhereIs team to apply, including your Apple ID in the message. Once accepted, you can try new versions before they are released on the App Store.
Beta notice: Beta builds are still in development and testing and may be unstable, including the risk of losing shelf information or other management data. If you rely on WhereIs for important projects, we do not recommend installing a beta. Your original files themselves are not affected.
